Never store your cooked rice without knowing this

✅ HOW TO STORE RICE SAFELY

Follow these key steps  every time you cook rice and have leftovers:

  1. Don't leave it to cool on the table for more than 1 hour.
⏳  That's the time limit to prevent the bacteria from multiplying.

  2. Spread the rice on a wide tray or place it in an uncovered container to cool down faster.

  3. Once cooled (maximum 1 hour after cooking), store it in an airtight container and take it directly to the refrigerator. ❄️

  4. Consume it within 24 to 48 hours.  No longer.

  5. When reheating, make sure the rice is piping hot, above 70°C.  🔥
Never reheat it more than once.

🧠 IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU SHOULD REMEMBER

  • White rice  , brown rice, or jasmine rice , all face the same risk.

  • Bacteria  do not change the smell or taste of rice , which is why it is so important to handle it correctly.

  • Simply reheating it is not enough , as the toxin produced by the  Bacillus cereus bacteria  is not destroyed by heat .

📝 EXTRA TIP: WHAT IF I WANT TO FREEZE IT?

You can do it!  🙌 Just follow these steps:

  • Cool the rice quickly as we already mentioned.

  • Divide into small portions.

  • Use freezer-safe bags or containers.

  • Label with the date.

  • It can last up to 1 month frozen.

👉 When defrosting,  don't leave it on the counter . Do it directly in the microwave or in a frying pan until it's piping hot.
